DiMarzio's single bridge humbucker with one 500K custom-taper volume and a Switchcraft two-conductor output jack. The black and white leads are joined and insulated.

## Parts and values

- Bridge pickup: Bridge pickup (BARE, GREEN, RED, BLACK, WHITE); generic (Humbucker (four-conductor, DiMarzio colours))
- Volume 500K custom taper: Volume 500K custom taper pot (EP1201); 500k; compatible example (CTS 500k Audio Pot)
- Output Jack: Switchcraft output jack, 2-conductor (EP1301); compatible example (Switchcraft \#11)
- Bridge Ground: TO BRIDGE GROUND; generic (Bridge ground wire)

## Specific to this wiring

- The black and white leads are joined and insulated.
- The bridge ground and the volume's grounded lug both run to the jack sleeve.
- The source specifies a 500K custom-taper pot. The simulator treats it as linear, so settings between the knob ends are approximate.

## Connections

1. TO BRIDGE GROUND → Jack sleeve (shield, black)
2. Pickup BARE → Volume casing (shield, bare)
3. Pickup GREEN → Volume casing (case, green)
4. Volume casing → Volume top lug (case, black)
5. Volume top lug → Jack sleeve (wire, black): The jack sleeve carries a ground symbol.
6. Pickup BLACK → Pickup WHITE (insulated, black): Joined and insulated.
7. Pickup RED → Volume bottom lug (input) (wire, red)
8. Volume middle lug → Jack tip (wire)

## What each position does

- Always on: Bridge pickup (both coils). Source: Single humbucker bridge, with single volume.

- The source's 500K custom taper is not reproduced: the pot is simulated with a linear track.
- Hum cancelling and phase describe the generic pickup model, not a measured DiMarzio pickup.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.

## Check before plugging in

- With the volume up, the meter across the jack should read the humbucker's resistance.
- The taped black–white joint should read open to ground.
