A 250K push/pull tone pot sets the middle position: pulled puts the two pickups in series, pushed puts them in parallel. It uses a 250K custom-taper volume, a .022 µF capacitor and a Switchcraft two-conductor jack. Its black and white leads are joined and insulated; the joint touches nothing else. - The neck pickup's gray lead goes to the volume casing. The board does not draw it, because the stand-in single coil has no third lead. - The switch tags and the push/pull tags are not labelled in the source, so they are mapped by what each does. ## Connections 1. Neck gray → Volume casing (case, gray), listed, not drawn: Drawn to the left casing dot; not drawn on the board because the stand-in pickup has no third lead. ## What each position does - Neck: Twang King neck. - Neck (tone pulled, no change): Twang King neck. - Neck and bridge in parallel: Twang King neck and Chopper T bridge (both coils) in parallel. Source: parallel = pushed - Neck and bridge in series: Twang King neck and Chopper T bridge (both coils) in series. Source: series = pulled - Bridge: Chopper T bridge (both coils). - Bridge (tone pulled, no change): Chopper T bridge (both coils). - The source's custom-taper volume is not reproduced: it is simulated with a linear track, so settings between the knob ends are approximate. - Hum cancelling and phase describe the generic pickup models, not measured DiMarzio pickups. - Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given. ## Check before plugging in - Position 2 with the tone pulled: the reading across the jack should be higher than either pickup alone, because the pickups are in series. - Position 2 with the tone pushed: the reading should be lower than either pickup alone (parallel). - Positions 1 and 3 should read the same whether the tone is pushed or pulled. - The taped black–white joint on the bridge pickup should read open to ground. ## Source Tinkercaster's own drawing of the DiMarzio diagram Richie Kotzen Telecaster® Wiring, revision 1.
