One P-90 · One volume · One tone

Lollar's Les Paul Junior wiring for one single-conductor P-90: a 500k volume and a 500k tone with a .022 µF capacitor, straight to the jack. Transcribed from the manufacturer wiring sheet and checked against the engine.

## Parts and values

- P-90 (single conductor): P-90 (single conductor braided lead, drawn with a dog-ear cover); compatible example (Lollar P-90 Soapbar)
- Volume 500k: Volume 500k; 500k; compatible example (CTS 500k Audio Pot)
- Tone 500k: Tone 500k; 500k; compatible example (CTS 500k Audio Pot)
- .022uF: Tone capacitor .022uF; 22nF; compatible example (Orange Drop .022µF)
- Output jack: Output jack (lugs 'Hot' and 'Ground'); compatible example (Switchcraft \#11)
- Bridge ground wire: Bridge Wire to Ground; generic (Bridge ground wire)

## Specific to this wiring

- 500k pots for volume and tone; the sheet recommends a .022 µF tone capacitor.
- Single-conductor braided lead: the braid goes to the back of the volume pot and the centre conductor to the volume's input lug.
- Tone wiring as drawn: the capacitor runs from the volume's grounded end lug to the tone's end lug, and the tone's middle lug is wired to the volume's input lug (the pickup hot). The tone's third lug is unused.
- The sheet runs the bridge ground wire and the jack ground to the back of the tone pot ('Bridge Wire to Ground').

## Connections

1. P-90 braid → Volume casing (shield, bare): The braided lead ends in the upper-left solder dot on the volume.
2. Volume lug 1 → Volume casing (case, white): Short wire from the right lug straight up to the right solder dot on the casing.
3. Volume casing → Tone casing (case, black): Down the right edge to the small solder dot on the tone.
4. Output jack lug 'Ground' → Tone casing (case, black): Round the bottom to the large solder dot on the tone.
5. Bridge Wire to Ground → Tone casing (case, black): Same large solder dot on the tone.
6. P-90 centre conductor → Volume lug 3 (wire, black): Leaves the braid under that dot and runs down to the volume's left lug (lug 3 in this back view, lugs pointing down).
7. Volume lug 2 → Output jack lug 'Hot' (wire, white)
8. Volume lug 3 → Tone lug 2 (wire, black): Thick black wire beside the capacitor; it crosses the hot lead and the capacitor leg with no junction dot.
9. Volume lug 1 → .022uF capacitor (wire, black)
10. .022uF capacitor → Tone lug 1 (wire, black): The tone's lugs point up on the sheet, so its left lug is lug 1; the right lug has no eyelet and nothing on it.

## What each position does

- P-90: P-90 (single conductor). Source: Written from the drawn wiring: one pickup, no selector; the volume's middle lug runs straight to the jack lug labelled 'Hot'.

- Pot tapers are not printed on the sheet; the simulator treats the pots as linear.
- The Lollar pickup definitions are unverified catalog entries.
