One humbucker · One single coil · Three-way blade · One volume · One push/pull tone (coil split)

A Tele harness with a neck Seymour Duncan humbucker and a bridge single coil on a three-way blade, one 250k volume and one 250k push/pull tone with a .047 µF capacitor. Pulling the tone grounds the humbucker series link to split the neck pickup.

## Parts and values

- Neck humbucker: Seymour Duncan Neck Pickup (humbucker); generic (Humbucker (four-conductor, Seymour Duncan colours))
- Bridge single coil: Seymour Duncan Tele bridge single coil; generic (Single-coil pickup (two-conductor))
- 3-Way Switch: 3-Way Switch; compatible example (CRL 3-Way Blade)
- Volume 250k: Volume 250k; 250k; compatible example (CTS 250k Audio Pot)
- Tone 250k push/pull: Tone 250k push/pull; 250k; compatible example (250k Push-Pull DPDT)
- .047 cap: .047 cap; 47nF; compatible example (Orange Drop .047µF)
- Output Jack: Output Jack; compatible example (Switchcraft \#11)
- Ground bridge wire: bridge ground wire; generic (Bridge ground wire)

## Specific to this wiring

- The neck humbucker red and white leads are soldered together onto a middle lug of the tone push/pull, not taped off.
- The push/pull lug nearest the pot goes to the tone casing so pulling the knob grounds the coil link.
- Only one side of the push/pull switch is used; the other three lugs stay empty.
- The source does not number the switch positions; the lugs are mapped by what they do (neck, both, bridge).
- Jack legend: Tip (hot output); Sleeve (ground), the inner, circular portion of the jack.

## Connections

1. Neck humbucker green → Volume 250k casing (case, green)
2. Bridge single coil black → Volume 250k casing (case, black)
3. Ground bridge wire → Volume 250k casing (case, black)
4. Volume 250k lug1 → Volume 250k casing (case)
5. .047 cap b → Tone 250k push/pull casing (case, black)
6. Tone 250k push/pull casing → Output Jack sleeve (case, black)
7. Volume 250k casing → Tone 250k push/pull casing (case, black)
8. Neck humbucker bare → Volume 250k casing (case, bare)

18. Volume 250k lug2 → Output Jack tip (wire, black)
19. Volume 250k lug3 → Tone 250k push/pull lug1 (wire, black)
20. Tone 250k push/pull lug2 → .047 cap a (wire, black)

## What each position does

- Neck, knob down: Neck humbucker (both coils).
- Neck + bridge, knob down: Neck humbucker (both coils) and Bridge single coil in parallel.
- Bridge, knob down: Bridge single coil.
- Neck, knob pulled: Neck humbucker (split to one coil).
- Neck + bridge, knob pulled: Neck humbucker (split to one coil) and Bridge single coil in parallel.
- Bridge, knob pulled: Bridge single coil.

- Hum cancelling and phase describe the generic pickup models, not a measurement of any specific Seymour Duncan model.
- The source does not say which knob position splits; this follows the usual push/pull behaviour (pulled joins the middle lugs to the lugs nearest the pot).

## Check before plugging in

- Knob down: each blade position reads the selected full pickup(s).
- Knob up: the humbucker(s) on the push/pull drop to roughly one coil.
- With the volume at zero, tip and sleeve should read as a short in every position.
