Two humbuckers · Three-way toggle · Push/pull volume (neck split) · Push/pull tone (bridge split)

Neck and bridge Seymour Duncan humbuckers on a three-way toggle with one 500k push/pull volume and one 500k push/pull tone with a .047 µF capacitor. Pulling the volume grounds the neck red–white link; pulling the tone grounds the bridge red–white link.

## Parts and values

- Neck Pickup: Seymour Duncan Neck Pickup; generic (Humbucker (four-conductor, Seymour Duncan colours))
- Bridge Pickup: Seymour Duncan Bridge Pickup; generic (Humbucker (four-conductor, Seymour Duncan colours))
- 3-Way Toggle: 3 Way Toggle; compatible example (Switchcraft 3-Way Toggle)
- Volume 500k push/pull neck split: Volume 500k push/pull (neck Coil Split); 500k; compatible example (500k Push-Pull DPDT)
- Tone 500k push/pull bridge split: Tone 500k push/pull (bridge Coil Split); 500k; compatible example (500k Push-Pull DPDT)
- .047 cap: .047 cap; 47nF; compatible example (Orange Drop .047µF)
- Output Jack: Output Jack; compatible example (Switchcraft \#11)
- Bridge ground: Bridge ground wire; generic (Bridge ground wire)

## Specific to this wiring

- The source titles the volume's push/pull as coil split for the neck and the tone's push/pull as coil split for the bridge.
- Only one pole of each push/pull is used: the middle lug takes that pickup's red and white; the lug nearest the pot goes to that pot's casing.
- Neck green and bare end on the volume casing; bridge green and bare end on the tone casing.
- The tone takes its signal from the volume's input lug; the .047 cap sits between the tone's middle lug and the tone casing.
- The bridge ground wire and the toggle frame end on the volume casing; the jack sleeve ends on the tone casing, which is linked to the volume casing.
- The toggle tags are not labelled in the source, so they are mapped by what each does.

## Connections

1. Volume push/pull nearest pot → Volume casing (case, black)
2. Neck green → Volume casing (case, green)
3. Neck bare → Volume casing (shield, bare)
4. Tone push/pull nearest pot → Tone casing (case, black)
5. Bridge green → Tone casing (case, green)
6. Bridge bare → Tone casing (shield, bare)
7. Toggle frame → Volume casing (case, black)
8. Volume right lug → Volume casing (case): Lug bent onto the casing.
9. .047 cap → Tone casing (case, black)
10. Volume casing → Tone casing (case, black)
11. Bridge ground wire → Volume casing (wire, black)
12. Tone casing → Jack sleeve (case, black)
13. Neck black → Toggle neck lug (wire, black)
14. Bridge black → Toggle bridge lug (wire, black)
15. Toggle common → Volume left lug (input) (wire, black)
16. Neck white → Volume push/pull middle (wire, white)
17. Neck red → Volume push/pull middle (wire, red): Shares the lug with the neck white.
18. Bridge white → Tone push/pull middle (wire, white)
19. Bridge red → Tone push/pull middle (wire, red): Shares the lug with the bridge white.
20. Volume middle lug → Jack tip (wire, black)
21. Volume left lug → Tone left lug (wire, black)
22. Tone middle lug → .047 cap (wire, black)

## What each position does

- Neck, both knobs down: Neck Pickup (both coils).
- Both, both knobs down: Neck Pickup (both coils) and Bridge Pickup (both coils) in parallel.
- Bridge, both knobs down: Bridge Pickup (both coils).
- Neck, volume pulled (neck split): Neck Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Pulling the volume splits the neck.
- Both, volume pulled (neck split): Neck Pickup (split to one coil) and Bridge Pickup (both coils) in parallel. Source: Pulling the volume splits the neck.
- Bridge, volume pulled: Bridge Pickup (both coils). Source: Volume split does not affect the bridge.
- Neck, tone pulled: Neck Pickup (both coils). Source: Tone split does not affect the neck.
- Both, tone pulled (bridge split): Neck Pickup (both coils) and Bridge Pickup (split to one coil) in parallel. Source: Pulling the tone splits the bridge.
- Bridge, tone pulled (bridge split): Bridge Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Pulling the tone splits the bridge.
- Neck, both pulled: Neck Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Neck split from the volume.
- Both, both pulled: Neck Pickup (split to one coil) and Bridge Pickup (split to one coil) in parallel. Source: Neck split from the volume; bridge split from the tone.
- Bridge, both pulled: Bridge Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Bridge split from the tone.

- Hum cancelling and phase describe the generic pickup models, not a measurement of any specific Seymour Duncan model.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.

## Check before plugging in

- In each toggle position the jack should read the selected pickup, or both in parallel in the middle.
- Volume pulled: the neck red–white link should read continuity to ground.
- Tone pulled: the bridge red–white link should read continuity to ground.
