Two humbuckers · Three-way toggle · Push/pull volume (splits both) · Push/pull tone (phase)

Neck and bridge Seymour Duncan humbuckers on a three-way toggle with one 500k push/pull volume and one 500k push/pull tone with a .047 µF capacitor. The volume's push/pull splits both pickups by grounding each red–white link. The tone's push/pull reverses the neck pickup's black and green leads.

- Tone 500k push/pull phase: Tone 500k with Phase Switch; 500k; compatible example (500k Push-Pull DPDT)
- .047 cap: .047 cap; 47nF; compatible example (Orange Drop .047µF)
- Output Jack: Output Jack; compatible example (Switchcraft \#11)
- Bridge ground: Bridge ground wire; generic (Bridge ground wire)

## Specific to this wiring

- The source titles the volume's push/pull as coil split and the tone's push/pull as phase.
- Each pickup's red and white leads are soldered together onto a middle lug of the volume's push/pull: bridge on the left, neck on the right.
- The two volume push/pull lugs nearest the pot are jumpered together and wired to the volume casing; the far row stays empty.
- The neck black and green leads go through the tone's push/pull with an X cross-wire so pulling the tone reverses the neck; the neck bare ends on the tone casing.
- The phase switch's hot out goes to the toggle's neck lug; the bridge black goes to the toggle's bridge lug.
- The tone takes its signal from the volume's input lug; the .047 cap sits between the tone's middle lug and the tone casing.
- The bridge ground wire ends on the volume casing; the jack sleeve ends on the tone casing, which is linked to the volume casing.
- The toggle tags are not labelled in the source, so they are mapped by what each does.

## Connections

15. Toggle common → Volume left lug (input) (wire, black)
16. Neck white → Volume push/pull middle right (wire, white)
17. Neck red → Volume push/pull middle right (wire, red): Shares the lug with the neck white.
18. Neck black → Tone push/pull middle left (wire, black)
19. Bridge white → Volume push/pull middle left (wire, white)

21. Tone push/pull top left → Tone push/pull bottom right (wire, black): One leg of the X.
22. Tone push/pull top right → Tone push/pull bottom left (wire, black): The other leg of the X.
23. Volume push/pull bottom left → Volume push/pull bottom right (wire, black)
24. Volume middle lug → Jack tip (wire, black)
25. Volume left lug → Tone left lug (wire, black)
26. Tone middle lug → .047 cap (wire, black)

## What each position does

- Neck, both knobs down: Neck Pickup (both coils).
- Both, both knobs down: in phase: Neck Pickup (both coils) and Bridge Pickup (both coils) in parallel.
- Bridge, both knobs down: Bridge Pickup (both coils).
- Neck, volume pulled (split), tone down: Neck Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Pulling the volume splits both pickups.
- Both, volume pulled (both split), tone down: Neck Pickup (split to one coil) and Bridge Pickup (split to one coil) in parallel. Source: Pulling the volume splits both pickups.
- Bridge, volume pulled (split), tone down: Bridge Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Pulling the volume splits both pickups.
- Neck, volume down, tone pulled (neck reversed): Neck Pickup (both coils). Source: Neck alone sounds the same when reversed.
- Both, volume down, tone pulled: out of phase: Neck Pickup (both coils) and Bridge Pickup (both coils) in parallel. Source: Neck reversed against the bridge.
- Bridge, volume down, tone pulled: Bridge Pickup (both coils). Source: The bridge does not pass through the phase switch.
- Neck, volume and tone pulled: Neck Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Neck split; reversed alone sounds the same.
- Both, volume and tone pulled: split and out of phase: Neck Pickup (split to one coil) and Bridge Pickup (split to one coil) in parallel. Source: Both split; neck reversed.
- Bridge, volume and tone pulled: Bridge Pickup (split to one coil). Source: Bridge split; phase switch does not affect the bridge.

- Hum cancelling and phase describe the generic pickup models, not a measurement of any specific Seymour Duncan model.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.

## Check before plugging in

- In each toggle position the jack should read the selected pickup, or both in parallel in the middle.
- Volume pulled: each red–white link should read continuity to ground.
- Tone pulled in the middle position: the two pickups should be out of phase.
