Two mini-humbuckers · Three-way toggle · Two volumes · Two tones

Neck and bridge Seymour Duncan mini-humbuckers in the familiar two-volume, two-tone toggle layout. Each pickup has its own 500k volume and 500k tone with a .047 µF capacitor, and the three-way toggle picks neck, both or bridge. The red and white leads on each pickup are joined and taped off.

## Specific to this wiring

- On each pickup, the red and white leads are joined and taped off.
- Each pickup's green and bare leads go to its own volume casing; the black lead goes to that volume's left lug, which is also wired down to the matching tone's left lug.
- The toggle frame lug goes to the bridge volume casing. Each volume casing is linked to its tone casing, and the two tone casings are linked.
- The bridge ground wire and the jack sleeve both end on the bridge tone casing.
- The source's inset 'For single-conductor humbuckers' says: the outer, braided shield-wire must be connected to ground (it may be soldered directly to the back of the volume pot, or to the ground terminal of the 3-way switch); the inner, black cloth wire is the hot output and connects to the 3-way switch. The main drawing shows four-conductor leads.
- The source legend marks the grey 'Solder' spots as the location for ground (earth) connections.
- The toggle tags are not labelled in the source, so they are mapped by what each does.

## Connections

1. Neck green → Neck volume casing (case, green)
2. Neck bare → Neck volume casing (shield, bare): Drawn grey beside the green.
3. Bridge green → Bridge volume casing (case, green): The sheet's 'Bare' and 'Green' labels sit beside these two leads; both end on the same Solder spot.
4. Bridge bare → Bridge volume casing (shield, bare): Drawn grey beside the green.
5. Bridge volume right lug → Bridge volume casing (case): Lug bent onto the lower Solder spot.
6. Bridge .047 cap → Bridge tone casing (case)
7. Bridge volume casing → Bridge tone casing (case, black)
8. Neck volume right lug → Neck volume casing (case): Lug bent onto the lower Solder spot.
9. Neck .047 cap → Neck tone casing (case)
10. Neck volume casing → Neck tone casing (case, black)
11. Bridge tone casing → Neck tone casing (case, black)
12. Toggle frame lug → Bridge volume casing (case, black)
13. Bridge tone casing → Jack sleeve (wire, black)
14. Bridge ground wire → Bridge tone casing (shield, black)
15. Bridge volume middle lug → Toggle bridge lug (wire, black)
16. Neck volume middle lug → Toggle neck lug (wire, black)
17. Toggle middle lug → Jack tip (wire, black)
18. Neck red → Neck white (insulated, red): Soldered together and taped off.
19. Neck black → Neck volume left lug (input) (wire, black)
20. Bridge red → Bridge white (insulated, red): Soldered together and taped off.
21. Bridge black → Bridge volume left lug (input) (wire, black)
22. Bridge volume left lug → Bridge tone left lug (wire, black)
23. Bridge tone middle lug → Bridge .047 cap (wire)
24. Neck volume left lug → Neck tone left lug (wire, black)
25. Neck tone middle lug → Neck .047 cap (wire)

## What each position does

- Rhythm (neck): Neck mini-humbucker (both coils). Source: Neck pickup through the neck volume and tone.
- Both: Neck mini-humbucker (both coils) and Bridge mini-humbucker (both coils) in parallel. Source: Neck and bridge together, each through its own volume and tone.
- Treble (bridge): Bridge mini-humbucker (both coils). Source: Bridge pickup through the bridge volume and tone.

- Hum cancelling and phase describe the generic pickup models, not a measurement of any specific Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.
- The single-conductor alternative in the source inset is not simulated.

## Check before plugging in

- In each toggle position, the meter across the jack should read the selected pickup, or both in parallel in the middle.
- Each taped red–white joint should read open to ground.
- In the neck or bridge position, turning the selected pickup's volume to zero should read tip to sleeve as a short.
