Two single coils · Single coil sized humbucker (bridge) · 5-way blade · One push/pull volume (coil split) · Two tones

Seymour Duncan sheet: neck and middle single coils with a single coil sized humbucker in the bridge on a 5-way blade, a push/pull volume that splits the humbucker when pulled, and two tones fed from the switch's second pole that share one .047 cap.

## Specific to this wiring

- Solder = location for ground (earth) connections.
- Jack: Tip (hot output); Sleeve (ground). The inner, circular portion of the jack.
- Ground wire to bridge.
- The sheet prints no position legend and does not number the switch lugs; the lugs are mapped by what they do (see the terminal mapping).
- 1 volume: push/pull coil split. 2 tone.
- The tone cap is printed '.047 cap'; tone 2 reaches it through a wire to tone 1's cap lug.

## Connections

1. Push/pull lug nearest the pot → Volume casing (Solder spot) (case, black): Black wire from the push/pull lug nearest the pot body (same row) down to the volume Solder spot (mapped sw1, the pulled contact).
2. SCH green → Volume casing (Solder spot) (case, green): SCH green leaves the cable to the Solder spot on the volume casing.
3. SCH bare → Volume casing (Solder spot) (shield, bare): SCH bare (drawn grey beside the green) to the same Solder spot.
4. Neck black → Volume casing (Solder spot) (case, black): Neck single-coil black runs straight down to the volume Solder spot.
5. Middle black → Volume casing (Solder spot) (case, black): Middle single-coil black runs straight down to the volume Solder spot.
6. Ground wire to bridge → Volume casing (Solder spot) (case, black): 'Ground wire to bridge' leaves the volume Solder spot (arrow).
7. Volume bottom lug → Volume casing (Solder spot) (case): The volume's bottom lug is bent onto the casing under the Solder spot.
8. Volume casing (Solder spot) → Jack sleeve (case, black): Black wire from the volume Solder spot to the jack Sleeve (ground); it carries the hop over the tip wire.
9. .047 cap → Tone 1 casing (Solder spot) (case, black): The cap's other lead to the Solder spot on the tone 1 casing.
10. Tone 2 casing (Solder spot) → Tone 1 casing (Solder spot) (case, black): Black wire from the tone 2 Solder spot up to the tone 1 Solder spot.
11. Tone 1 casing (Solder spot) → Volume casing (Solder spot) (case, black): Black wire from the tone 1 Solder spot, hopping over the tip wire, to the volume Solder spot.
12. SCH black → Switch upper row, fourth lug (wire, black): SCH black leaves the cable, arcs up over the controls and lands on the upper-row lug at the far end from the common (mapped T3, bridge throw, positions 1-2).
13. Middle white → Switch upper row, third lug (wire, white): Middle single-coil white runs in the lower of the two white leads to the third upper-row lug from the common (mapped T1, positions 2-4).
14. Neck white → Switch upper row, second lug (wire, white): Neck single-coil white passes the middle pickup and runs as the outer white lead to the upper-row lug next to the common (mapped T2, positions 4-5).
15. Switch upper row, first lug → Switch lower row, fourth lug (wire, white): White jumper from the upper-row end lug (the common) along under the row to the opposite-row lug at the far end (mapped T8, the second pole's common, diagonally opposite).
16. Switch lower row, fourth lug → Volume top lug (wire, white): White wire from that opposite-row end lug down to the volume's top lug (input).
17. Switch lower row, first lug → Tone 1 middle lug (wire, white): White wire from the opposite-row end lug farthest from that row's common (mapped T7, positions 1-2) down to tone 1's middle lug; it passes under the tone-2 feed.
18. Switch lower row, second lug → Tone 2 upper outer lug (wire, white): White wire from the opposite-row second lug from the common (mapped T5, positions 2-4); it carries the hop over the tone-1 feed and loops round the outside to tone 2's outer lug (tone 2 drawn lugs up; mapped lug1).
19. SCH white → Push/pull middle lug (wire, white): SCH white leaves the cable beside the red and lands on the push/pull's middle lug of the row nearest the SCH (mapped sw2, pole A common).
20. SCH red → Push/pull middle lug (wire, red): SCH red lands on the same push/pull middle lug with the white.
21. Volume middle lug → Jack tip (wire, white): White wire from the volume's middle lug down to the jack Tip (hot output).
22. Tone 1 lower outer lug → .047 cap (wire, black): Black lead from tone 1's lower outer lug (tone 1 drawn with its lugs pointing down-left; mapped lug1) to the .047 cap.
23. Tone 2 middle lug → Tone 1 lower outer lug (wire, white): White wire from tone 2's middle lug to tone 1's lug that carries the cap (shared cap).

## What each position does

- Bridge · pushed: Bridge single coil sized humbucker (both coils). Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function.
- Bridge · pulled: Bridge single coil sized humbucker (split to one coil). Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function. Pulled grounds the SCH red & white ('push/pull coil split').
- Bridge + middle · pushed: Middle single coil and Bridge single coil sized humbucker (both coils) in parallel. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function.
- Bridge + middle · pulled: Middle single coil and Bridge single coil sized humbucker (split to one coil) in parallel. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function. Pulled grounds the SCH red & white ('push/pull coil split').
- Middle · pushed: Middle single coil. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function.
- Middle · pulled: Middle single coil. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function. The SCH is not selected, so pulling changes nothing here.
- Middle + neck · pushed: Neck single coil and Middle single coil in parallel. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function.
- Middle + neck · pulled: Neck single coil and Middle single coil in parallel. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function. The SCH is not selected, so pulling changes nothing here.
- Neck · pushed: Neck single coil. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function.
- Neck · pulled: Neck single coil. Source: The sheet prints no position legend; this is the standard 5-way contact table with the lugs mapped by function. The SCH is not selected, so pulling changes nothing here.

- The sheet prints no pot values; 250k stand-ins are used.
- The single coil sized humbucker is modelled by a generic four-conductor humbucker; hum cancelling and phase describe the generic model.
- The sheet does not say which knob position splits beyond 'push/pull coil split'; this follows the usual push/pull behaviour (pulled joins the middle lugs to the lugs nearest the pot).
- Which positions each tone works in follows the by-function lug mapping of the switch's second pole; the sheet does not label it.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.

## Check before plugging in

- Knob pushed: positions 1 and 2 read the full humbucker.
- Knob pulled: positions 1 and 2 read one humbucker coil; the red & white read ground.
