## Parts and values

- '57 P Bass: '57 P Bass (white, black); generic (Single-coil pickup (two-conductor))
- Volume 250k: Volume 250k; 250k; compatible example (CTS 250k Audio Pot)
- Tone 250k: Tone 250k; 250k; compatible example (CTS 250k Audio Pot)
- .1μf: .1μf capacitor (drawn orange); 100nF; compatible example (0.1 µF Film Capacitor)
- Output jack: Output Jack; compatible example (Switchcraft \#11)
- Bridge ground: From Bridge Ground; generic (Bridge ground wire)

## Specific to this wiring

- The P-Bass white lead goes to the volume's left lug; its black lead goes to the solder spot on the volume casing.
- The volume's right lug is bent onto the casing.
- The tone is drawn with its lugs up. The volume's left lug jumps to the tone's left lug; the .1μf capacitor sits on the tone's middle lug with its other leg on the tone casing.
- The wire labelled From Bridge Ground and the jack sleeve both end on the tone casing, which is linked to the volume casing.
- The jack lugs are not labelled in the source: the lug fed from the volume's middle lug is the tip and the lug wired to the tone casing is the sleeve.

## Connections

1. P-Bass black → Volume casing (case, black)
2. Volume right lug → Volume casing (case): Short black link.
3. .1μf capacitor → Tone casing (case)
4. Tone casing → Volume casing (case)
5. Tone casing → Jack sleeve (wire)
6. From Bridge Ground → Tone casing (shield)
7. P-Bass white → Volume left lug (input) (wire, white)
8. Volume middle lug → Jack tip (wire)
9. Volume left lug → Tone left lug (wire)
10. Tone middle lug → .1μf capacitor (wire)

## What each position does

- Always on: '57 P Bass. Source: One P-Bass, no selector.

- The P-Bass is modelled as a generic single coil; the split-coil/hum-cancelling construction is not modelled.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.

## Check before plugging in

- With both pots up, the meter across the jack should read the P-Bass resistance.
- The jack sleeve should read continuity to the tone casing, the volume casing and the bridge ground wire.
