One Rebel 90 · One volume

A single Tonerider Rebel 90 through one 500kA volume to a mono jack. Tonerider draws it for all its Rebel 90 pickups.

## Parts and values

- Rebel 90: Rebel 90 (all Rebel 90 pickups); generic (Single-coil pickup (two-conductor))
- Volume 500kA: Volume 500kA; 500k; compatible example (CTS 500k Audio Pot)
- Output jack: Output Jack; compatible example (Switchcraft \#11)
- Bridge ground: Ground Wire from Bridge; generic (Bridge ground wire)

## Specific to this wiring

- The pickup cable carries a white lead, a black lead and a bare shield wire.
- The white lead goes to the volume's left lug; the black lead and the bare shield wire both end on the upper-left solder spot on the volume casing.
- The volume's right lug is linked to its casing with a short black wire.
- The source labels the jack wires: 'Signal/Hot Wire to Output Jack Tip Lug' from the volume's middle lug, and 'Ground Wire to Output Jack Sleeve Lug' from the volume casing.
- The 'Ground Wire from Bridge' ends on the right-hand solder spot on the volume casing, the same spot as the jack ground wire.

## Connections

1. Rebel 90 black → Volume casing (case, black): Upper-left solder spot.
2. Rebel 90 bare shield → Volume casing (shield, bare): Bare Shield Wire, to the same upper-left solder spot.
3. Volume right lug → Volume casing (case, black)
4. Volume casing → Jack sleeve (case): Ground Wire to Output Jack Sleeve Lug, from the right-hand solder spot.
5. Bridge ground → Volume casing (shield): Ground Wire from Bridge, to the right-hand solder spot.
6. Rebel 90 white → Volume left lug (input) (wire, white)
7. Volume middle lug → Jack tip (wire): Signal/Hot Wire to Output Jack Tip Lug.

## What each position does

- 1: Rebel 90. Source: Single pickup.

- The Rebel 90 is simulated as a generic two-conductor single coil; hum and phase describe that generic model, not the Rebel 90.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.

## Check before plugging in

- With the volume up, the meter across the jack should read the pickup's resistance.
- The volume casing, the jack sleeve and the bridge ground should all read continuous with each other.
