GUITAR WIRING, FOR EVERYONE

Wire your own guitar.
Even if you never have.

Tinkercaster is an online guitar wiring diagram editor and simulator. Start from hundreds of checked wiring diagrams, see your circuit in 3D, ask Luthier, then build it step by step.

Drawing, saving and sharing are free. Pro is $8 a month and adds Luthier and guided builds.

Made for luthiers and repair techs, pickup and electronics makers, and anyone soldering their very first guitar.

A DIAGRAM IS JUST THE BEGINNING

The missing link between
“I want this” and “I built this.”

01 / PLAN

Start with your guitar.

Find a diagram for your pickup layout, or bring your idea to Luthier. Arrange your parts and make the wiring your own.

Find a wiring diagram ↗
02 / UNDERSTAND

Know what connects where.

Follow the wiring, run the checks, and ask questions about the circuit you’re looking at. See the gaps before picking up the iron.

03 / BUILD

Take it one step at a time.

Follow the connections and checkpoints in order. Record readings, get help, and keep your place.

MEET YOUR NEW BENCH COMPANION

A whole circuit.
One manageable step.

You’ve got the diagram. Now comes the part that used to be up to you: where to start, what to connect next, and how to check your work.

Guided builds put those instructions beside the drawing. Focus on the current task, take the measurement, and move on when you’re ready.

  • Confirm your parts and meter before you start
  • See the parts and terminals for the current step
  • Record measurements and investigate unexpected readings
  • Save your progress and pick up where you left off

Start from a library diagram or save your own design. The workbench works out the soldering steps from it and tells you if anything needs fixing first.

A QUESTION SHOULDN’T STOP YOUR BUILD

“Wait. Am I
doing this right?”

That’s a question for Luthier. Your AI assistant shares the workbench with your wiring, so you can talk about the circuit without starting from scratch every time.

Explore an idea. Understand a check. Ask for a change. You stay in control of what gets applied to your board.

“Help me plan this wiring.”“Explain this check.”“What should I measure next?”

AI can make mistakes. Check advice against your parts and measurements. Pro includes AI assistance with a usage limit.

BEFORE YOU PICK UP THE IRON

A few good questions.

Do I need to know how to read a schematic?

No. Start in the wiring view, where you can see the parts and their terminals. The schematic view is there when you want to understand the circuit another way.

Can I build my own design step by step?

Yes. Save your design and Tinkercaster works out a guided build from your board, with connections, soldering steps and meter checks. Start from a library diagram or your own layout, and it tells you if anything needs fixing first.

What can Luthier do?

Luthier is an AI assistant with context about your board. Ask about connections, explore changes, or get help when you’re stuck. Proposed board edits are yours to apply, and can be undone. AI assistance is included in Pro with a usage limit.

Can the app tell whether my guitar is wired correctly?

It checks the circuit on your board, and guided builds ask you to record physical measurements. It cannot see your solder joints, so measure as you go.

What do I need at my workbench?

Your guitar parts, soldering equipment and a multimeter. The guided build helps you confirm your parts and setup before you begin. Tinkercaster runs in your browser; your physical tools are not included.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Drawing, simulating, saving and sharing boards is free, and so are downloads, custom parts, the parts inventory and the courses. You can start drawing without an account and create one when you want to keep your board. Pro adds Luthier and guided soldering builds, for $8 monthly or $60 annually.

That guitar isn’t
going to wire itself.

You bring the parts. Bring a little guidance, too.
