“Example part” means any part with the same value and lugs will do; the source does not name a brand. “Generic” stands in for an unspecified pickup: check your own pickup's lead colours before you solder.
Specific to this wiring
- Each Triple Shot mounting ring is drawn as a PCB with W/G/B/R/Gnd pads only; two seymour-duncan-triple-shot-half catalog parts stand in for the ring’s dual DPDT switches using Seymour Duncan’s published pad-to-terminal legend (W→half-A T1, R→half-A T3, B→half-B T1, G→half-B T3, Gnd→switch casings).
- Ring harness white/black to the rest of the circuit matches the manufacturer sheet; internal DPDT throw wiring inside the ring is not drawn and is not modelled beyond the disclosed pad mapping.
Understand this wiring
- Seymour Duncan humbucker wire colors
See the pickup, recognise its two halves, and learn where each coloured wire goes.
- Seymour Duncan coil splitting explained
A humbucker has two coils. See how a switch lets you use just one of them.
- Reading Seymour Duncan push/pull switch diagrams
Turning the knob and pulling it do different jobs. See the actual part, then try its switch connections.
- Seymour Duncan series, split and parallel wiring
Two coils can work in a chain, side by side, or one at a time. See the difference before choosing a switch.
Connections
In soldering order: grounds first, then the switch, the pickups and the signal path.

Not simulated: this circuit is drawn for reference only.
- Triple Shot ring switching is a disclosed dual-DPDT stand-in; passive position analysis does not verify series/split/parallel modes inside the ring.
- Engine rule failures on the ring stand-in map are expected; topology matches visible pad and harness connections on the source sheet.
- Engine rule selectionReachesTip fails on the transcribed board; passive position analysis is not verified.
- Engine rule groundsReachSleeve fails on the transcribed board; passive position analysis is not verified.
- Engine rule seriesLinkIsolated fails on the transcribed board; passive position analysis is not verified.

Before you solder
Ticks are kept in this browser only, as a reminder. They are not a check of your joints. New to soldering? Read the soldering cheat sheet.
Check before plugging in
Measure across the output jack with a multimeter on its resistance range. No exact readings are given where the source does not specify the pickups.
