Parts and values
| In the drawing | Value | Part |
|---|---|---|
| Neck single coil | — | Vintage Tele Rhythm STR-1 |
| Bridge Tele humbucker | — | Seymour Duncan Hot Rails for Tele |
| 4-Way Switch | — | 4-Way Tele Mod Switch |
| Volume 250k | 250k | CTS 250k Audio Pot |
| Tone 250k | 250k | CTS 250k Audio Pot |
| .047 cap | 47nF | Orange Drop .047µF |
| Output Jack | — | Switchcraft #11 |
| Ground wire from bridge | — | Bridge ground wire |
| Neck pickup cover ground wire | — | Pickup cover ground wire |
Every pickup is the maker's own. “As specified” means the sheet names that part. “Example part” means the sheet names no model: the pickup shown is one of the maker's with the same leads, and any pot, cap or switch with the same value and lugs will do. “Generic” is a plain part such as a ground wire. “Not on the sheet; stand-in” means the sheet prints no value for that part, so the value shown is the usual one, not the maker's.
Understand this wiring
- Seymour Duncan humbucker wire colors
See the pickup, recognise its two halves, and learn where each coloured wire goes.
Connections
In soldering order: grounds first, then the switch, the pickups and the signal path.

What each position does
| Setting | The source | Engine result |
|---|---|---|
| Position 1 | Engine reading of the transcribed board; matches the source legend. | Bridge Tele humbucker (both coils). |
| Position 2 | Engine reading of the transcribed board; matches the source legend. | Neck single coil and Bridge Tele humbucker (both coils) in parallel. |
| Position 3 | Engine reading of the transcribed board; matches the source legend. | Neck single coil. |
| Position 4 | Engine reading of the transcribed board; matches the source legend. | Neck single coil and Bridge Tele humbucker (both coils) in series. |
Checked with the Tinkercaster wiring engine against the switching the source describes.
- Custom tapers are not reproduced; pots are simulated as linear.
- Pickup resistance is not specified, so no numeric meter readings are given.
Before you solder
Ticks are kept in this browser only, as a reminder. They are not a check of your joints. New to soldering? Read the soldering cheat sheet .
Check before plugging in
Measure across the output jack with a multimeter on its resistance range. No exact readings are given where the source does not specify the pickups.
